autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure><p class=\"has-small-font-size\"><em>In this video you can see the whole process of creating super-modern top model statue. <\/em><\/p><p>When <strong>Poggi Ugo<\/strong> decided to <strong>expand its collection<\/strong> to include<a href=\"https:\/\/poggiugo.it\/en\/product-category\/design\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong> items with a contemporary and minimalist taste<\/strong><\/a>, <strong>it needed a statue<\/strong> that could also be used in <strong>eclectic and cosmopolitan environments<\/strong>.<\/p><p><strong>The story of this creation<\/strong> is not only about the<strong> production of a terracotta accessory<\/strong>, but also about <strong>one of our oldest craftsmen &#8211; The <strong>upper part<\/strong> is also <strong>made up of two parts<\/strong>, which are <strong>joined together<\/strong> after the plaster cast has been made using the now familiar &#8216;<em><strong>borbottina<\/strong><\/em>&#8216; (a fairly liquid mixture of clay and water that acts as an adhesive).<\/p><figure class=\"wp-block-gallery has-nested-images columns-default &#8216;mumbler&#8217;.<\/em><\/p><p style=\"font-size:18px\"><strong>Now comes the waiting&#8230;<\/strong>\n\nWe wait<strong> at least a week<\/strong>, the time it takes for <strong>the clay to dry a little<\/strong> and take its new shape.\nUntil we feel that<strong> the earth is dry enough<\/strong> to bear the weight of gravity without the support of plaster, we cannot decide to remove it, but<strong> now the time has come&#8230;<\/strong><\/p><figure class=\"wp-block-gallery has-nested-images columns-default is-cropped wp-block-gallery-5 is-layout-flex bottom part of the Top Model.<\/em><\/p><p>The <strong>statue<\/strong> <strong>must<\/strong> now <strong>be cleaned<\/strong>: this is done <strong>with simple tools<\/strong> such as <strong>gouges, scrapers and brushes;<\/strong> the <strong>surface of the statue must be perfect,<\/strong> <strong>impeccable<\/strong>, without even the slightest defect, which is why an almost <strong>maniacal<\/strong> <strong>eye and attention are needed<\/strong> to complete this phase; the <strong>same gestures <\/strong>are made <strong>for the lower part<\/strong> &#8211; the legs temperature, motionless for days, the exact number varies depending on the season, now in autumn it takes at least ten, after which the statue will be moved to a temperature-controlled room (the drying room at around 60\u00b0C) where it will remain for a couple of more weeks, before being fired in the kiln in which it will do 4 days of firing at 1000\u00b0C and then 5 days of cooling in a closed kiln.\n\n&nbsp;<\/p><p style=\"font-size:18px\">It is very important that <strong>each step involving a change in temperature<\/strong> is <strong>done slowly and gradually<\/strong> to allow the <strong>clay to harden<\/strong>.<\/p><p>The<strong> statue has finally taken on the colour of terracotta<\/strong>, with the delicate <strong>powdery notes<\/strong> <strong>typical<\/strong> of the <strong>Poggi Ugo clays of Impruneta.<\/strong><\/p><p><strong>Now our men<\/strong> <strong>carefully<\/strong> carry it <strong>to the forecourt<\/strong> in front of the kiln where it is <strong>thoroughly moistened<\/strong> (this is the<strong> last and very important step in the process<\/strong>) <strong>to restore the water lost during the firing<\/strong>; this operation <strong>stabilises the terracotta forever<\/strong> and <strong>ensures the eternal beauty of our <a href=\"https:\/\/poggiugo.it\/en\/shop\/design\/statues-contemporary\/top-model\/\"
