This box is part of a large collection of pots, crates and cache-pots with smaller or smaller stripes: a motif that has been repeated since the time of the ancient Greeks. The ‘evergreen’ stripe motif, which has known various youths over the centuries, in fashion and objects, is often found in rounded or squared shapes, with thin stripes known as ‘millerighe’ or with large, broad stripes, hollowed out or in relief. Handmade with Impruneta clay resistant to frost at -30 °C. Terracotta’s excellent breathability, thermoregulation and slight release of watering moisture give health to the roots of the plants planted. Over time, it acquires a beautiful surface appearance where lichens and mosses can easily settle.
