Fountain by Andrea del Verrocchio with pool borders

Large terracotta fountain composed of a circular basin with a shaped rim and geometric bas-relief decorations. At the center rises a column with a square base, supporting a single circular bowl. At the top, a terracotta statue depicts a putto holding a fish in his arms — a figure inspired by the angel from Andrea del Verrocchio’s famous sculpture for The Baptism of Christ.

Water flows from the fish’s mouth into the upper bowl and then cascades into the main basin below, creating a continuous and harmonious movement.

Entirely handmade using Impruneta clay, it is frost-resistant to below -30°C, durable, and designed to withstand outdoor conditions over time. With the passing seasons, the surface naturally develops a patina that enhances its character.
