The Galatea Bust in terracotta portrays the renowned sea nymph from Greek mythology, a symbol of beauty and gentleness. Galatea is one of the Nereids, daughters of Nereus and Doris, sea deities known for their grace and benevolence. Her name, meaning “she of the milky-white complexion,” evokes her luminous skin and ethereal presence.

In myth, Galatea is remembered for her tragic love story with the shepherd Acis. She fell in love with the young man, but the cyclops Polyphemus, madly infatuated with her, was overcome with jealousy and hurled a massive boulder at Acis, killing him. Heartbroken, Galatea transformed her lover’s blood into a clear and crystalline stream, making him immortal in the waters of Sicily.

This classic sculpture is crafted in a single size and sculpted in high relief, entirely handmade using authentic Impruneta clay. Frost-resistant up to -30°C, it guarantees excellent durability and retains its shape over time. As the seasons pass, the surface develops a natural patina, enhancing its timeless charm and character.

Perfect for both indoor and outdoor spaces, the Galatea Bust is an ideal decorative element for gardens, courtyards, and exhibition spaces, adding a touch of classical beauty and harmony.
