Trunk

Designed by the Spanish studio Masquespacio for the 100th anniversary of Terrecotte Poggi Ugo, the trunk stool is made up of geometric parts such as the hemisphere and the cylinder but is adorned with many raised lines reminiscent of bamboo or straight and smooth stems such as the tropical sterlizia flower. Its peculiarity, in addition to the unpublished design, is also in combining terracotta with a material, Mariotti Fulget’s silipol or terrazzo, which has created for us a mixture with exclusive colors to match the terracotta. Handmade in Impruneta clay and therefore resistant to the outside even at low temperatures, it is equally interesting in common indoor environments. Trunk, Totem seat and Leaf chair are part of the 19 models on a project called “Land”, that is, return to the origins, to the land, by Valentina Guidi Ottobri.
