Antique cassette with windmills. The antique cassette with windmills in Tuscan style, probably from the Lucca area, is a faithful reproduction of a very low and rather wide cassette. Three different types of rosettes follow one another in the decoration, framed at the top and bottom by two cords, one thicker than the other, shaped according to tradition by plunging the index finger into the fresh clay, so as to result in two types of cords. The dimensions of this box, as mentioned, are unusual: length 92 cm – width 36 cm – height 20 cm. Given its low height, which makes it very stable, it is therefore suitable for seasonal flowers such as pansies, marigolds, African daisies or verbena, or bulbs such as hyacinths, daffodils, muscari, mini irises, anemones. In addition, as with all our ornamental planters, we recommend planting flowers that, once grown, do not obscure the beauty of the terracotta ornamentation.
