Summer with Wheat.
Allegorical statue representing the season of summer. This particular model is based on a statue in the garden of the historic Villa Carrega in Impruneta. Since Greco-Roman mythology, the goddess Demeter (Ceres for the ancient Greeks) has symbolized summer, the harvest season par excellence.

Portrayed as a beautiful young woman, Goddess Demeter was the maternal deity of the earth and fertility, tutelary deity of crops and birth since all flowers, fruit and living things were believed to be her gifts.

The terracotta reproduction of Impruneta Poggi Ugo is very harmonious and rich in details: note the long wavy hair and the many draperies of the robe, as well as the small scythe and the bundle of wheat ears, typical symbols that allegorically identify this season.

Modeling is done using the cast-from-plaster technique. Classic statue, made in one size. Suitable in garden, flower bed, above wall, sides of entrance or opening.

It is placed in terrace, balcony and at the same time in interior rooms, such as hall, entrance hall, reception, bedroom.

Handmade with Impruneta clay, frost-resistant to over -30°C of excellent durability, the shape remains unchanged over time. As the seasons pass, it acquires a beautiful surface appearance.
